Detroit Mercy made its long-awaited return to the NCAA tournament with its lowest-scoring win of the season, a 76-66 victory over the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday night. The 30-point attempt was the second-best scoring performance of his career, and he led with 13 points in the game. He led the entire contest with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Detroit freshman Kandice Bogatz made the score 2-0 early in the first period before Boissonneault tacked on a goal exactly a minute later. A late 9-2 Detroit Mercy run shortened the Green-White lead to six, but a late 3-1 Michigan run and a couple of goals by the Wolverines late cut it to 6-6.

She helped Detroit Mercy back into the NCAA tournament when the Titans went 22-6 and captured victories over Oregon, Georgetown and Marquette, coming off a season in which she led the winning season with 14 wins in her senior campaign. Detroit will also showcase the newly renovated Titan Field at Ford Field for the first time in its history, where the Final Four of this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament will be played at Little Caesars Arena as part of a four-game series against Michigan State University.

The famous Dick Vitale would lead UDM to the NCAA tournament in 1977 with a 21-game winning streak. Another former Detroit Mercy coach is Rademacher, who led them to a 10-4 record in 2010-11 and an NCAA tournament spot in 2011.

McCallum's predecessor Perry Watson was an assistant coach at the University of Michigan before joining the Detroit Mercy, and he led and maintained one of the most successful programs in Horizon League history. Since 1996-97, the Detroit Mercy Athletic Team has won 26 league championships and made it to 13 NCAA championships after the season. The youngest team to do so was the Detroit Mercy Softball team, which won the 2019 Horizon League Championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in the program's history, and its first-ever appearance in the College World Series. Watson led the Detroit Mercy to a successful season in each of his first two seasons as head coach.
The women's lacrosse team played in a great game that the Titans lost 9-8 to Niagara. The men's lacrosse teams played with wheels and lost 14-7 to Wheeling Jesuit, and the men's lacrosse teams lost 7-6 to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Detroit Mercy suffered setbacks against Cleveland State and Utah while waiting for the MAAC tournament.
While the Titans have received 16 players on official visits, there will be plenty of unused space at the start of the school year. Unfortunately, poor results on the court have recently prevented Detroit sports fans from making it to Calihan Hall. It would be amazing to see what the matchday production of a Titans game looks like and what to expect from a college basketball game. The Detroit Mercy Titans games would be held in a packed sports hall, but there would also be a number of meetings, including the annual Detroit-Oakland Dual. The field is also used for training and a variety of other events, such as basketball, volleyball, football, lacrosse, athletics, baseball, softball, tennis and volleyball.
