Inter City Baptist School Reviews

I went to Inter City from 7th grade - 12th grade! I now am able to send my child who has been at Inter city for 6 years!! I feel blessed that we have such a wonderful school with dedicated teachers to help guide my child. In this world we live in, our children need a good home, church & school, to help them in their christian walk! I disagree with all the former students who have negative things to say about this school! There was a reason they were 'asked to leave.' Inter City wants kids who are following Christ at their school!!!!

Inter City has the highest standards for every aspect of a Christian Education. The leadership coordinates the learning process from K -12 with each curriculum complimenting surrounding grades. There is a very dedicated staff striving to be like Christ and teach the students to do the same. The music and sports programs are excellent.

I attended inter-city from age two until age 16(1985-1999) when I was expelled because of an incident which occurred during the summer. Teenagers experience so many things and I feel this school did not provide any type of counseling for those who may truly be struggling in an area of their Christian walk. I felt it was easier for the school to dismiss me than to help me. I am thankful for my education but as an African-American woman I know this is not a school filled with cultural diversity. This school beats around the bush when it comes to preparing their students for real life not life inside their bubble. They may have dismissed me but my Lord and savior certainly didn't.

I attended ICBS several years ago. Even then, it seemed the school was focused more on athletics and Bible study than preparing its students for the real world. I felt totally 'lost' when I transferred to a real school and saw how far behind I was based upon the quality of education I received at ICBS. True, the class sizes are smaller and there is more personalized attention but it is not worth your child receiving a poorly balanced education lacking the ability to survive in the real world. Life as a student at ICBS does not prepare you for life -- however, if you are interested in your child becoming a pastor or a teacher at a Christian school, ICBS would probably be right for them. Be prepared -- there is no room for expressing opinions or individuality. You'll be asked 'not to return' if you don't fit the mold.

My child has attended ICB for the past six years. We have never belonged to the church or even to that denomination when he started there. However, he has had several exceptional teachers who really care about his spiritual and academic development. This school has been great for him and I would highly recommend it to others.

Inter-City is a great school but isn't for everybody. I count myself very blessed to have gone there. It's academic standard is just as high as it's spiritual standard of excellence. Unpleasant experiences at this school are commented from people who focus on the do's and don'ts and fail to see the school's reasoning behind the rules as well as it's love for the students. My K-12 education took place there and I know many of the graduates. It has been my experience that those who truly desire a spiritual life appreciate the opportunity to learn there. And those that for some reason did not enjoy their experience there but have a strong relationship with God would still acknowledge the school's spiritual and academic drives as being high.

I attended ICB from elementary to high school. While some of the courses are very college prep in their high school program, there were so many subjects and activities missing from their school. I would definitely not recommend them. I felt ill-prepared for college on most levels. Perhaps for elementary school, this school could be recommended. But beyond that - beware!

ICBS provides and excellent education which includes learning principles for living a life in Christ. My wife and I are graduates and our children have completed their education at ICBS as well. We all received a balanced education with an opportunity to participate in a quality level of art and sport. The teachers and administration are well trained to provide an excellent education opportunity for all interested in what ICBS has to offer. I will always be thanful for what ICBS has provided me, my wife and our children in preparing us for further education, our jobs and living our lives striving to please our Lord Jesus Christ.

I went to Inter-City High School, and it was a blessing. All of the teachers truly care about the students' spiritual life. It is a great school, and it truly does honor and glorify God.

Both my children attend this school and I am greatful the Lord pointed me in their directions. It has truly been a blessing and the education spiritual and otherwise has been challenging and rewarding. Thank you to the staff and the other students that have made it a wonderful experience in the past and the future.

I feel so sorry for the teachers and faculty at this school. I attended this school from Pre-school-high school and I have nothing good to say about it. They favor their ''own'' church kids and they are all about rules, and nothing about having a close intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, which is what being a christian is all about. I feel so sorry for these people that they are going through life living each day according to a list of do's and dont's. There is so much more to living the christian life. This school is a disappointment.

I went to Inter-City Baptist High School... it was horrible! They kicked me out because my hair was too short, and because I'm a Nazarene. I was told I wasn't a Christian because of my dinomination. I was told I wouldn't amount to anything, if they could only see me now. All Inter-City did for me was to make me doubt that Jesus even loved me. I'm blessed to have been 'asked to leave'.

This school is stuck in religion and does not care for the well being of its students.

Inter City Baptist School's mission is to 'Glorify God by educating and maturing disciples who are growing in Christlikeness' The administration, teachers, staff and students work very hard to meet this goal!
