About Detroit, Michigan

In the Gilded Age, Detroit was called “The Paris of the West.” In 1904 Ford Motor Company began production. In the 1940s, blues music emerged. In the 1950s, jazz. In the 1960s, Motown and Aretha. Also, Bob Seger came out of Detroit and in the 1970s, the MC5 and Stooges held sway. They say Techno music started here around 1987. Is that because of “tech-no-logy”? A long time ago, the Detroit Free Press turned into a valid publication. Sports teams include the Detroit Pistons, the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Red Wings.
