Hockeytown Cafe: Face Off for Great Food

Feb 7, 2010

There's no denying it: The Hockeytown Cafe in Detroit is the place to be when it comes to food and fun. The decor of Hockeytown Cafe is playful and impressive; Motorcycle collections, sports artifacts, and lots of big screens take center stage. Whether you're looking for a place to watch the big game, gather with friends or grab drinks on a Saturday evening (or any evening, for that matter), Hockeytown Cafe is the perfect venue.

Offering lunch and dinner, Hockeytown Cafe's menu is packed with flavorful American favorites like burgers, chicken wings, steaks, ribs, sandwiches and pizza. Nothing hits the spot like an order of Red Wings with blue cheese dressing and a tall, cold brew on game day-- or any day.

If wings aren't your thing, don't worry-- Hockeytown Cafe has other apps that are sure to get your taste buds revved up. Nachos Grande with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, sour cream, salsa and crisp lettuce and tomatoes; loaded potato skins with bacon and jack cheese; fried chicken fingers in your choice of sauce and beer-battered fried mushrooms with cocktail sauce are among the other tasty starter choices.

For your meal, try one of Hockeytown's fresh salads, burgers or sandwiches. The Michigan Salad with Boursin cheese, Traverse City dried cherries, walnuts, cucumber and tomato with a sweet raspberry vinaigrette; San Fran Melt Burger with melted jack cheese, sauteed onion and dijon mustard on grilled marble rye bread; Bar-B-Q pulled pork sandwich coleslaw and Texas toast; and steak panini with fresh ribeye, melted pepper jack and caramelized onions are all perfect choices.

Full entree choices include BBQ baby back ribs with slaw and steak fries, pan-seared salmon with lemon cream sauce and mashed potatoes, and Cajun shrimp pasta with onions, peppers and mushrooms, among several other delicious options.

For dessert, try the Chocolate Tuxedo Mousse with crumb cake and chocolate drizzle-- it's a chocolate lover's dream come true.

Reservations aren't required at Hockeytown Cafe, and dress is casual.
